Anelka did well too. A goal and an assist got him 12 points.

A total of 62 points so far, but I've no players in action tomorrow, so the other teams in the office league could catch up.

I forgot to get my transfer for Van Persie in in time for gameweek 4. Every time I wait to make sure of the latest injury situation, something distracts me and I forget.

I'll just have to hope Chopra scores against Liverpool.

Gameweek 3 - Mixed bag

Thanks to Rob Styles' bizarre refereeing performance I have a respectable points total this week. I've been knocked off the top of the office league, though.

Barring any other horribleness I'll be sticking Van Persie back in attack just before the dealine for the next round. Oh, and Taylor comes off the subs bench again. At that point, I think I might just be happy with my selection as a long-term squad. Hopefully I'll have some time to change the substitutes around without sacrificing more points.

Gamble lost

It seems I underestimated Wigan. They hammered Sunderland 3-0, so Chopra just gets the two points for playing.

To add insult to injury, Taylor starts for Portsmouth and scores from the penalty spot. So I'd have been eight or nine points better off leaving Berbatov in and having the substitute system play Taylor in his stead. (Sigh).

Hopefully my main players (who are in action today) will make up for it.

Gamble

I've decided to replace Berbatov with Sunderland's Chopra. It'll cost me four points, but Berbatov is injured, and Sunderland are up against Wigan. I think Chopra will get more points than my substitute player, Taylor. It also frees up a bit of cash.

Time will tell.

Gameweek 2 - Disaster!

Ronaldo gets himself sent off for headbutting an opponent right in front of the referee. Bloody idiot.

So, the ensuing three match ban means he's now out and Lampard is in. This messes up my plans to bring the Arsenal strikers back in, but I feel the midfield takes priority.

The now second choice Taylor managed to get an assist. Perhaps it's worth keeping him as a substitute player.

Still, last season I did so badly that I was happy if I got thirty points in a gameweek. So forty points for round two is perhaps a silver lining to Ronaldo's cloud.
